The short version: nothing you make in FLSH leaves your phone unless you send it yourself, and we collect nothing about you.
FLSH does not collect anything about you. It has no accounts, no login, no analytics, and we run no server of our own for it to talk to. The only network traffic FLSH makes is Apple's, when you buy something or restore a purchase. Your photographs and videos are made on your phone, stay on your phone, and are only ever seen by you unless you export and share them yourself.
The one other thing you can send is a formula: the chapter and the lens settings you were shooting with, as a five-character code or a link. A formula contains those settings and nothing else. No photograph, no name of yours, nothing that identifies you or your phone, and not even the name you gave it, which stays here. It is sent by you, through your phone's own share sheet, to whoever you choose. FLSH does not send it, does not store it, and never sees that you sent one.
Required. FLSH is a camera. Every effect is applied to the live image on your device as you shoot. Nothing from the camera is transmitted anywhere.
Only while you are recording a video, and only to record the sound of that video into that file. It is not used at any other time, and audio is never analysed or uploaded.
Two separate things, both deliberately narrow:
FLSH does not look for faces at all. It used to, in one narrow way: it found where a face was in the frame so it could put the light there, and did nothing else with it. That was removed on 25 August 2026, and there is now no face detection anywhere in the app. The light sits at a fixed point in the frame.
So there is nothing to say about face data, because none is produced: nothing detected, nothing measured, nothing stored, nothing sent. And as before, no reshaping, no smoothing, no generative AI, and nothing anywhere that alters how you look.
If you delete FLSH, everything it stored goes with it. Anything you exported to your photo library stays there, because at that point it is your photograph in your library.
Subscriptions and the one-time purchase are handled entirely by Apple. FLSH is told whether you have an active purchase and nothing else. No card details, no name, no address, none of which ever reach us. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
FLSH does not currently show advertisements. It is intended to: exporting a frame without the FLSH mark will be free in exchange for watching a short video. When that arrives, an advertising provider will be involved, and this page will be updated before it ships to say who they are and what they receive. Until then, there is no advertising code in the app.
FLSH is not directed at children under 13, and collects nothing from anyone regardless of age.
Under the GDPR and similar laws you have the right to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to retrieve or erase on our side. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored on yours. If you would like that confirmed in writing, or have any question at all, write to support@getflsh.com and you will get a real answer.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that affects what leaves your device will be announced in the app rather than quietly published here.
